Soupe bak kut teh

  Cook Time : Within 50 minutes 

Ingredients :

– 500g Pork Ribs

– 1 tablespoon of Dark Soy Sauce

– 2 cloves of Garlic

– 1 Lettuce

– 2 teaspoons of Salt

– Water

To make the spice blend :

– 1 teaspoon of White Peppercorns

– 2 whole Chinese Star Aniseeds

– 4 whole Cloves

– 1 Cinnamon stick

Instructions :

Seperate the lettuce leaves, wash them and put them aside to dry. Place all the spices together in a square cloth and tie a knot.

Place the ribs, the spices and the garlic in a pot. Cover everything with water and bring it to boil. Skim regurlarly.

Add the dark soy sauce and salt. Lower the flame and leave the pot to stew until the ribs are tender (about 30-40 minutes).

To Serve :

Place a few lettuce leaves into a bowl before adding the ribs and the soup.

Serve with Thai Jasmine Rice « Golden Rose ® », the sliced red chilis and the dark soy sauce.
