– 500g of Pork (tenderloin or shoulder)
– 3 Hard Boiled Eggs
– 3 tablespoons of Vegetable Oil
– 15 cloves of crushed Garlic
– 9 White Peppercorns
– ½ cup of Palm Sugar
– 3 Cinnamon sticks
– 2 tablespoons of Chinese Five-Spice Powder
– ½ cup of Soy Sauce « Topmi ® »
– ½ cup of Sweet Soy Sauce
– Chinese Star Aniseed
– Chopped Coriander
Dice the pork into cubes. Transfer it to a plate and put aside. Heat the oil in a pot over a low flame.
Add the coriander, garlic, and pepper and stir until there is a pleasant smell. Place into a bowl and put aside.
Cook the sugar in a pot over a low flame. Once it turns light brown, pour in 2 cups of water, stirring all the while to dissolve the sugar.
Add the cinnamon sticks, the star aniseed, the five-spice powder and the meat. Mix well. Season with the soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, and salt.
Add the hard boiled eggs and wait until it reaches boiling point.
Lower the flame and allow the pot to stew for 1 hour until the pork is tender.
To Serve :
Place into a bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.
